Yet, on February 4, 2013, while photographing the icy landscapes of Iceland, Rolf tragically passed away. He left behind Pondok Sari as a living legacy—not only for its visitors but also for Bali’s culture and nature.

The resort began with Rolf’s vision, joined by his local partner Malik Tarigan, to create a serene haven that captured Bali’s natural beauty and culture. After Rolf’s passing and Dipo’s in 2019, the torch was passed to the second generation, Rizal and Vitus, who continued to uphold their vision with dedication.
Now, the third generation of the Tarigan family is poised to carry the legacy forward with Lohmann familyu, ensuring a smooth transition.
